Winter may still seem some way off but the Hackney Winter Night Shelter will open at the beginning of November. John Alty will continue to act as a coordinator this year, and will be in touch with those of you who have volunteered in previous years. We will be covering Saturday evenings in the first half of the season, up until Christmas. For anyone who has not so far been involved and would like to know more, please get in touch with John on johnhm.alty@gmail.com, or 07801 029298. You can also look on the HWNS website: www.hwns.org.uk The shelter provides food and overnight accommodation for between 15 and 25 people over the winter months and is an important contribution we can make to helping people who are homeless.
