Sun 4 March onwards

Thank you to everyone involved in running the emergency Night Shelter here in church on 1st March and at breakfast the following morning. Eight people slept in the church on Thursday night, looked after by volunteers.

Victoria - who is playing the organ - is well known to us, so we don't need to welcome her as if we didn't know her. But 4 March 2018 is a special day as it's her first day in role as our new Director of Music, and we celebrate he arrival in this post.

Soup Lent Lunch this Friday will be in church at 12.30pm, after the 12 noon Eucharist. We'll be supporting The Diocesan Lent Appeal this year, 'Tackling Homelessness Together'. Other soup dates are March 16, 23.

Liz Taylor is kindly running a COFFEE MORNING in church to mark Fairtrade Fortnight (26 Feb - 11 Mar). The Coffee Morning will be this Sat, 10 March, 10.30am - 12 noon. All very welcome!

March 11th is Mothering Sunday and the 4th Sunday of Lent.

There will be prayers for healing at the 10am service on 18th March.

Our 'Annual Meeting of Parishioners' & 'Annual Parochial Church Meeting' (APCM) will be on Sunday March 18th, immediately after church.

Victoria Park Singers concert in church on Wed 21 March. 'The Path Unwinding - Fifth Anniversary Concert'. Tickets will be available on the door at £12/£10 concessions. Doors open at 7:30pm. Performance starts at 8pm.

Lenten Quiet Day. Sat 24th March,11.30am to 2.30pm. Cost: £10, which includes lunch, drinks and all materials. You must pre-register by calling Fr Doug on 0208 985 7832, or sign the sheet at the back of church. Title of the day - The Longest Week, a reflection on Holy Week.

Holy Week & Easter: Palm Sunday: 9.45am at school, 10am in church on 25 March. Eucharist at 8pm Mon 26 - Wed 28 at 8pm. Maundy Thursday service will be at 8pm on 29 March. Good Friday service at 10am, Stations of the Cross at 2.30pm (on 30 March). We will be showing a film - 'of Gods and Men - in the Parish Room at 3.30pm, also on Good Friday. Church decorating - Sat 31 March, 9.30-11.30am. Easter Day (1 April) - Dawn Eucharist at 5.30am (followed by Parish Breakfast). Easter Celebration at 10am.

The next church cleaning is Sat, 7 April, 9.30am - 11.30am. All welcome!

Who Cares? An introduction to pastoral care. Are you interested in caring for others? This course will give you an insight into what pastoral care is all about and what good practice looks like. This 7 week course is open to all and starts on Tuesday - March 6th @ 7pm @ Stepney Centre for Training and Development, Hemsworth St, Hoxton N1 5LF. Please sign up in the file on the table at the back of church if you have time to get involved in church opening on a Saturday, 9.30 - 3pm. As little as half an hour of your time is really useful. We have an obligation to one of our funders for the repair work on our Tower to be open 40 Saturdays a year. And anyhow - we'd like to be open as much as possible.
