What's on - Sunday 2 September 2018 onwards

This Wednesday (5th), 6-7.30pm in church. Handbell performance of 'Ring Cycle' by Mark Wagner (+ handbell demo and workshop followed by general ringing). All very welcome!

There will be 'Prayers for Healing' as part of our 10am Sunday service on 16 September.

Our next Last Sunday of the month 4pm service will be on Sunday 30 September.

We will be celebrating HARVEST on Sunday 7 October. There will be a shared meal after church. Please write down offers of food on the list at the back of church. Thank you.

We will be holding our PET SERVICE on Sunday 7 October at 4pm (the Sunday closest to the feast day of St Francis of Assisi). Pets & the people they look after - all very welcome!

There's a man - Habib Sadat - who has been living nearby in South Hackney for the last few months who is an asylum seeker from Afghanistan. His host is getting married and can no longer house him. So Habib needs somewhere to live. If anyone feels that they are in a position to offer him accommodation, please speak with Andrew.

This year's Confirmation will be on Sat 3 Nov at 5pm (rehearsal for all at 3.30pm at St Paul's Cathedral). If you would like to be confirmed, please sign the list at the back of church. If you'd like to talk about what Confirmation involves, please speak with Andrew or Gill. Deadline for signing up - 9 Sept.

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect in the UK on 25 May 2018. To help us become compliant as a parish, please - if you haven't done so already - could you fill out a 'Consent Form', which you'll find at the back of church. Please leave filled-in forms at the back of church before you go home.

Some volunteering opportunities: we'd like to hear from you if you would be willing to:

(A) Join a rota of altar servers

(B) Do some ushering when we have baptisms and at major festivals such as Easter and Christmas. These people would be in addition to the Stewards on the rota

(C) Be willing to come in to church to organise the altar linen kept in the Vestry

Dates for FUTURE PCC meetings in the Parish Room (8.05pm): 18 Sept, 9 Oct, 20 Nov.

Please sign up in the file on the table at the back of church if you have time to get involved in church opening on a Saturday, 9.30 - 3pm. As little as half an hour of your time is really useful. We have an obligation to one of our funders for the repair work on our Tower to be open 40 Saturdays a year. And anyhow - we'd like to be open as much as possible.

We need to ensure that there are always two adults in Junior Church. Would you be willing, not to lead, but to be a second adult, on occasion? You will need a DBS check, but we can organise that. Please speak with Andrew or Gill.

If you would like to buy flowers for the church to mark an anniversary or a special occasion do please speak to Estelle Wilson.

If you play an instrument, please tell Victoria, our Director of Music. It doesn't matter at all how good you think you are - she'd like to hear from you.
