Summer Holiday Bible Club at St Barnabas, Homerton High Street. 19-23 August. 10am-12.30pm. For children aged 5-14. Cost: £1 per day. All children in the age group are welcome! To register, please contact The Revd Clive Main on 020 8533 1156 or email

Wyatt Sinfonia Concert - Sat 31 Aug, 7pm. Cost: £10 (£5 concessions). Ravel - Daphnis et Chloe, Elgar - Cello Concerto, Jonathan Heck - Psalm 39 (World Premiere). Conductor: Zoe Kundu.

Children and young people's picnic. Sun 1 September. Meeting after church on Sunday 1 September (12-2pm approx.). Heading to Well St Common (meet close to the swings). Please bring food & drink, anything you'd like to sit on (blankets etc) & games you might like to play. Please could all children be accompanied by an adult. Wet weather plan - we'll eat together in church. Please say if you know you'd like to come.

The next church cleaning will be Sat 7 September 9.30-11.30am.

The next PCC meetings will be: 10 Sept; 12 Nov (8.05pm, after the 7.30pm Eucharist).

Who Cares? An Introduction to Pastoral Care Course: 7 Tues evening sessions, 7-9pm, 8th, 15th, 29th Oct and 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th Nov.

Topics covered:

Listening • Nature of Pastoral Care • Visiting • Prayer in Pastoral Care • Boundaries and Confidentiality • Bereavement • Using the Bible in Pastoral Care

Full cost is £30 per person. The course takes place at 'Stepney Centre for Training & Development', St Anne's Community Hall, Hemsworth St, Hoxton, N1 5LF. Please speak with Andrew, Gill, Manuela, Basil or Pat if you'd like to think about this.

Barts Health NHS Trust & St Joseph's Hospice 'Annual Remembrance' Service at St Paul's Cathedral. 27 Oct, 6pm. A service in memory of those who have died. No tickets needed - all welcome.

This year's Confirmation will be on Sat 16 Nov, 5pm. If you'd like to be confirmed, or talk about it, please sign the list at the back of church. Preparation classes start on 3 October.

Do take a look at the plans at the back of church for the interior of the church, and the churchyard. Please make any comments on the post-it notes provided.

We want to establish how many members of the congregation would like to take an active part in something called 'Citizens UK'. Citizens UK organises local and national campaigns on social justice themes. National campaigns include: 'A real living wage', 'Refugee resettlement', 'Housing and homelessness'. If you think you would like to take an active part in this, please read the information at the back of church and write your name on the list.
