Exciting buildings news

New news about our building project:

Phase 3 now well under way.

At St John of Jerusalem, we love the people who make up our church, whether they are newcomers or long established members, children, young people, older people, visitors, passers by, people of faith or those who are unsure about what they believe.

But our church is also a building and it's a listed building, Grade 2*. And we have a responsibility to keep it in good repair. We want to do this anyway, because our church building is a visible witness to the presence of God in our community.

And the good news is that progress on our Phase 3 Building project, to restore the exterior of the church, is now well under way. The scaffolding is up and work has started on restoring stonework on the base of the tower, repairing the roof on the north side of the building and fixing some of the gutters and drainpipes.

We've had generous grants from English Heritage, the National Churches Trust, Garfield Weston and other donors, and we're very grateful to them all. Without them, the work would not be possible.

We'll keep you updated on progress - watch this space!
