What's on - Sunday 2 December 2018 onwards

The 'Happy Singers' group meets this Wednesday at 7pm in church. There's an open invitation to everyone who enjoys singing and making music with other people.

Our Advent Carol service will take place this afternoon, 2 December (Advent Sunday) at 4pm. All very welcome!

A member of our congregation, Ingrid, is volunteering in Calais from 11-15 December for 'Help Refugees'. Ingrid is collecting:

- sleeping bags,

- waterproof winter jackets, small/ medium

- gloves , scarves and hats

- socks, all small sizes and dark colours

All still in good condition

These can be dropped off at 2 Banbury Rd, E9 7DU, or brought to church on 2, 9 Dec. Ingrid's contact details are: 07708 015 883

Paul Higgins will kindly be holding his COFFEE MORNING at 4 Mongers Almhouses this Sat, 8th December, 10.30am-12.30pm. Please save the date.

There will be prayers for healing as part of the 10am service on Sunday 9 December.

Festival Chorus Concert - 9 December - Handel's 'Alexander's Feast'. 7pm. Free entry, retiring collection.

St Mary of Eton, Hackney Wick is putting on a fundraising concert on Friday 14 December, 7pm (tickets £15, £7.50 concessions). The choir of Eton College is coming to give a concert entitled 'An Eton Christmas'. All welcome!

The next CHURCH CLEANING will be Saturday, 15 December, 9.30-11.30am. Please note that this is not the usual first Sat of the month.

Some people choose to give to the church using weekly envelopes. If you use envelopes - the new ones for 2018/19 are available now. Please tick the list when you take your envelopes. If you'd like to join the envelope scheme, please choose a number that doesn't have a name next to it - and put your name on the list. Thank you!

Night Shelter date before Christmas: 22 December. It won't be taking place this year at St Luke's, Homerton Terrace, but at St Mary's, Stoke Newington. If you'd like to volunteer and there are any of the dates above that you know you can't do, please email John Alty asap on johnhm.alty@gmail.com

Gill is fundraising to buy a 'Prayer Bus' (an adapted, good quality second hand minibus) to provide spiritual and pastoral support for refugees in Calais. The fundraising target is £10,000. If you would like to contribute online please go to:
