20 November 2021
No Evening Prayer at 4pm on Sunday 21 Nov I'm afraid as both Shana and Andrew have to be at services elsewhere.
If you feel you can manage the stairs, any help immediately after the service on Sun 21 Nov to bring down the books from the Tower room for a book-sale as part of the hymnathon would be very gratefully received.
The PCC meets at 7.15pm this Thurs (25th) in Prideaux House. If it needs to be in the Parish Room at the last minute there will be a note on the door at Prideaux House poinitng people over the road.
We are not holding a Christmas Bazaar this year. Instead we're holding a St Cecilia (Patron Saint of Music) Hymnathon on Saturday 27th November 10am-4pm, to sing the hymns we've all missed over last year and raise money for the church. We really need volunteers to help on the door/with refreshments on the day—please sign up if you can help (sign up sheets at back of church). There are also sponsorship forms if you'd like to come and sing, and a hymn request sheet if there's a particular hymn you'd like sung (sheet at back of church - deadline for requesting hymns is Sunday 21st November, please). Fine also simply to make a donation. For more information, please speak to Liz or Victoria.
We are also looking for Raffle Prizes for the Hymnathon. Please bring those in to church and speak with Liz or Shana.
Message from congregation member Mark: Having not run in over 30 years, my daughter Emilia has persuaded me to run 5K, so we are training for the Santa in the City run on 1st December. She is running as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award activity. All money raised will be going to St Joseph's Hospice. Any donations to help motivate us would be gratefully received - you can find out more and donate at the link below.

It's also an opportunity for anyone who would like to put themselves forward to join the Board. They would especially welcome interest from people of under-represented backgrounds. The meeting will take place via Zoom - please see their blog/newsletter for more information. Their website is 'growingcommunities.org'.
The next church cleaning will be Saturday 4 December, 9.30-11.30am.
