There is a Whole Church Beach Trip to Worthing planned for Saturday 13th September. We will depart, by coach, at 9am from church (bus stop on Church Crescent) and leave Worthing at 4pm to return to SJOJ. Please use the sign-up sheet at the back of church to confirm attendance. Fare is £25 for adults, £15 for children.
Please note that the Tuesday morning Little Tots 0-4 (under 5) Stay and Play is now on summer break, but will be back every week during term time from Tuesday 2 September.
Help get the church term-time ready by coming to church cleaning on Saturday 6 September, 9:30am-11:30am.
Sunday morning Junior Church is also now on Summer break, but will start again on Sunday 7 September.
Join the St John of Jerusalem choir! First rehearsal is Wednesday 10 September, 7-8.30pm. Sign up at the back of church to join/ express interest. The choir will be preparing for every Sunday and we are also launching a monthly Evensong Service. The first will be Sunday 5 October at 5pm. Please register your interest if you would like to take part in the music, or leading of the service at Evensong. Do speak with Robyn if you'd like to find out more.
There is a PCC meeting on Thursday 11 September, 7pm in the Parish Room.
Confirmation this year is on 1 November at St Paul's Cathedral. We will be holding preparation discussion groups on Tuesday evenings (Sept 23, 30; October 7, 14, 21). The time will be arranged in conversation with the people who want to be confirmed this year. Please sign up at the back of church if you'd like to be confirmed this year, or speak with Robyn, Toby or Andrew.
Hackney Night Shelter is organising a sponsored Sleep Out in our churchyard on 10 October 2025, to raise funds for and raise awareness of their vital work providing routes out of homelessness. For more information see https:www.hackneydoorways.org.uk/
