24 April 2026
Please see below what's happening at St John of Jerusalem. You'd be so welcome to come and join us for any of these services or events.

Hackney Festival Chorus/Haydn Chamber Orchestra are performing Mozart's Mass in C minor and Hensel's Hiob here this evening (Sunday, 26 April) at 7pm.
There is no Evening Prayer here on 26 April, or Morning Prayer tomorrow morning (due to the church needing to be cleaned after this evening's concert). For a list of Morning and Evening Prayer times in the week ahead, please see the diary overleaf.
There is Little Tots 0-4 (under 5) Stay and Play every Tuesday during term time, 10am – 12 pm. Possible new volunteers for this, please speak with Lisa E, Robyn, Toby or Andrew. (Due to this evening's concert, we won't be setting up for Tots Group after church today.)
There is choir practice every Tuesday, 7 – 8.30pm, in the Parish Room. This will start with an introduction to music theory, 7 - 7.30pm. People are welcome to come at 7 or 7.30pm.
Get next week's May bank holiday weekend off to a sparkling start by coming to Church Cleaning on Saturday 2 May, 9:30am.
We have three new services:
- a monthly Evensong (* next one, next Sunday 3 May, 5pm *)
- a monthly Thursday Night Prayer (next one 14 May, 7pm)
- a monthly Sunday Service in our church school (Pancake Church!), especially for Primary School aged children (17 May, 10am).
We are looking for new volunteers to assist occasionally with our Junior Church and/or Youth Group. (A DBS check and some safeguarding training would be necessary.) Please speak to Lisa-Raine or Estelle for further details.
Anna Dalton's daughter, Margarita, has signed up to climb Mt Kilimanjaro this August, to raise money for Street Child (who work with a network of local organisations in over 20 of the world's toughest countries across sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Europe, to see all children safe, in school and learning - especially in low-resource environments and emergencies). She is hoping to raise £2980. Any words of encouragement or sponsorship gratefully received! You can sponsor her at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/uk-kilimanj...
Prideaux House is seeking donations of good quality clothes or electrical items to sell in their Charity Shop. Donations can be left at Prideaux House (10 Church Crescent) on Monday, Tuesday or Friday mornings, or at the charity shop (407 Mare Street).
