There is Evening Prayer here this evening at 5pm. For a list of Morning and Evening Prayer times in the week ahead, please see the diary overleaf.
There is Little Tots 0-4 (under 5) Stay and Play every Tuesday during term time, 10am – 12 pm (Tuesday 14 July will be the last one this term). Possible new volunteers for this, please speak with Lisa E or Andrew.
For the Tots group on Tuesdays we need to lay out foam mats and put up plastic fencing to create a huge rectangle in the centre aisle. If anyone has time to help with this today - please stay behind after tea & coffee to help. It's easy to explain what needs doing.
There is choir practice this Tuesday, 7 – 8.30pm, in the Parish Room. This will start with an introduction to music theory, 7 - 7.30pm. People are welcome to come at 7 or 7.30pm. There is then a summer break and choir practice will start again on 15 September.
There is Pancake Church on Sunday 19 July at 10am in the hall of our church school (St J of J Primary School, please use the back entrance on Kingshold Rd, E9 7JF). All primary-aged school children, with their parents/carers welcome!
There is Evensong on Sunday 2 August, 5pm.
There is Thursday Night Prayer on 13 August, 7pm.
Starting Wednesday 9 September, 7pm- 9pm for 6 weeks: Who Cares? An introduction to pastoral care. 6 weeks exploring the principles of good pastoral care - learn how to confidently care for others in church and community. Venue: St John of Jerusalem Church. We are looking for new volunteers to assist occasionally with our Junior Church and/or Youth Group. (A DBS check and some safeguarding training would be necessary.) Please speak to Lisa-Raine or Estelle for further details.
Anna Dalton's daughter, Margarita, has signed up to climb Mt Kilimanjaro this August, to raise money for Street Child (who work with a network of local organisations in over 20 of the world's toughest countries across sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Europe, to see all children safe, in school and learning - especially in low-resource environments and emergencies). Prideaux House is seeking donations of good quality clothes or electrical items to sell in their Charity Shop. Donations can be left at Prideaux House (10 Church Crescent) on Monday, Tuesday or Friday mornings, or at the charity shop (407 Mare Street).
